I’m a happy man I do the best I can Clouds outside the window Can’t change my mind I’m an optimist Nothing can cloud my thoughts I’m privileged And also spoiled I like jokes on the phone It makes me feel less alone I wanna make you feel good When I’m with you I like long summer nights With a soft breeze I wanna make you feel good and a little bit lucky, too I’m a happy man Cause I was born I‘ve been the fastest sperm Once in a race I’m a happy man Even if it sounds ridiculous In the end I only have this life How could I be unhappy at all?

about

With "Happy Man," the Berlin-based deep dark indie rock band, The Halo Trees, presents their second single through their new label partner, COP International. Despite its title, the song leans towards melancholy, revealing the band's darker side. Sonorous vocals complement electronic elements, tragic violins, and the deep post-punk rock instrumentation that characterizes the track's latter half. It offers a glimpse of their upcoming album, slated for release in the first half of 2024. Alongside the title track and an instrumental version that emphasizes strings, the single features an intriguing electronic remake with a completely new arrangement devised by singer/guitarist Sascha Blach. At the same time, The Halo Trees are releasing a video clip for the song, which is now online on YouTube:

about

The Halo Trees Berlin, Germany

The Halo Trees, that’s deep, melancholic music with plenty of room for the voice and handmade instrumentation. A comforting sound universe, inspired by David Bowie, Editors, Mark Lanegan, The National or Nick Cave. A mixture of indie-rock, pop, wave and post-rock with many tom-toms, melodic basslines, atmospheric guitars, catchy violin and sonorous, warm vocals. ... more
